InternshipsThe United Supermarkets Arena at Texas Tech University seeks a highly motivated, creative, and energetic student interested in gaining hands-on experience in the event and facility management industry. Through this internship, students will build event coordination and management skills as well as leadership, organization, teamwork, communication, and other key skills.

Number of Hours Required Per Week: 12-15 in-office + events
Appointment to begin on/about: Sept. 1 or Jan. 15 of the relevant semester
The arena internship program consists of approximately 12-15 hours/week during the day, plus event hours. Interns work on a rotation schedule with each full-time management member in order to gain full exposure and hands-on activity in each of the facets of our operation. Students will participate in client meetings, and will gain insight to areas of operation including, but not limited to: event coordination and management; technical aspects (sound, lights, configuring shows, etc.); fiscal aspects (budgeting, contracts and billing); facility operations (staffing, scheduling, tenant relations); guest services (suite holders, PSL program, guest relations); and public relations and marketing. Interns will also assist with event conversions and will be assigned to work in various areas for concerts, basketball, volleyball, weddings and other special events.
